Thanksgiving is an important holiday to us here at the Ashar Group. Every year around this time, we find ourselves slowing down for a moment—we look away from our computer screens and spreadsheets, take a deep breath, and reflect on our blessings.
For us, those blessings are abundant. Our President, Jason Mendelsohn, is thriving after undergoing lengthy, difficult treatment for stage 4 tonsil cancer. Not one to sit back and keep his blessings to himself, this September he raised more than $24,000 by completing the 140-mile cycling ride, the Ride to Conquer Cancer. We are so proud of Jason and his family, and we remain thankful for his continued health and inspiring strength.
We are also thankful for the health and courage of our Vice President of Secondary Market Solutions, Jamie Mendelsohn, and her twin sister Jill, both of whom have been affected by Crohn’s Disease. As a company, we are grateful to be able to support the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, which funds research, education, and awareness efforts around these diseases.
And of course, we are always thankful for the chance to be able to serve you, our clients and friends. We believe in doing what is right—in fact, that’s why we named our company Ashar, after the biblical term that means “do what is right and you will be blessed.”
This holiday season, we are most certainly blessed, and we will continue, as always, to do our best to do what is right—to live and work guided by our values. Happy Thanksgiving!
